We are so Small

We are so Small was a painting exhibition and an art/poetry book made alongside each other. They are about our place in the world and how small we are in comparison to the rest of the universe.

When I was about 13 I had my first existential crisis. I thought to myself that “since we are so small then nothing we do matters.” It was a few years later that I realized that that was actually a good thing. We can just do what we think is important and/or fun and there is so much to see.

The paintings are huge. They start off looking like abstract colour field paintings. As you walk closer you notice the stars and when you’re right up to them you might see a tiny spaceship.
